Interfaith Outreach
Last month, we announced that the Venice Community Dinners program was in the process of forming an independent organization. That process has been completed, and the result is the new "Interfaith Outreach."
They are a service organization that includes the Community Dinners, the COOP group and the BackPack Kids program.
A Taste of Faith
Enjoy our Ethnic Food Festival Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 4 PM Jewish Congregation of Venice, 600 Auburn Rd. Featuring the Venice Interfaith Community Choir "Artists United in Service" directed by Deborah Berioli; Mary Jeanne Moorman, pianist; Barbara Gail & Jeff Hanna of The Rhythm Inlet.
The Taste of Faith Ethnic Festival is a fund raiser for BackPack Kids If you wish, bring a dish representing your ethnicity (no pork or shellfish, please). Tickets: $20. For tickets call 941-697-7416.
In Harmony: Exploring Sacred Music Through the Ages
You won't want to miss this!! A six-evening, Monday night program, beginning on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, January 16, 2012. Our Music Director, Deborah Berioli, has invited talented, diverse musicians to give an appreciation for the role of music in faith practices through the ages.
7:00 pm Mondays, January 16 through February 20 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Venice, 1971 Pinebrook Road, Venice 34292 A $5 donation is requested.

What do you when you don't know where your next meal is coming from? An ever-increasing number of people in our community struggling to provide the basic needs of food, clothing and shelter for their families are turning to the Venice Faith Community for assistance.
Since April of 2009 the Venice Interfaith Outreach program has been providing weekly dinners for the homeless and those in need. Along with canned goods, fruit, clothing and toiletries over 7,500 people have been served tasty and nutritious meals from salad to desert.
