Venice Interfaith Activities

Thanksgiving Eve Community Service Continuing a 16 year tradition, we sponsor a non-denominational interfaith service of thanks, featuring readings and music from a wide variety of faiths and cultures. A collection at the service is donated to area Food Banks.

Winter Educational Series As the world shrinks it is increasingly important to go beyond mere tolerance of others' beliefs. During the winter season, we sponsor educational lectures, discussions, and small-group dialogues, presenting the history and customs of various world-wide belief systems, and modeling civil discourse on controversial subjects. Our 2012 series is In Harmony: Exploring Sacred Music Through The Ages Mondays at 7pm, January 16 through February 20.

Venice Community Dinners Since 2009, Venice faith groups have participated in preparing delicious home-cooked weekly dinners for our neighbors in need and serving them in a family-style atmosphere.

Community outreach and Organizing Program (COOP) Established in 2010, COOP's goal is to coordinate a network among faith groups and local agencies and institutions in an effort to provide service opportunities for the interfaith community targeted to the needs of the Venice area.

The Taste of Faith potluck supper is a fundraiser in the spring that gathers the interfaith community under one roof to share food, hear music and have conversations with those of other faith traditions in our community. Mark your calendars Sunday March 18, 2012.
